NEW ORLEANS – The University at Albany women’s track & field program has been awarded US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors, the organization announced Thursday.
The 2016-17 women’s track & field team accumulated a 3.14 team cumulative GPA. The Great Danes were one of 360 NCAA Division I teams (218 women’s, 142 men’s) to earn All-Academic honors.
Georgia’s women and Texas A&M’s men swept the indoor and outdoor Scholar Team of the Year awards, the first time in history for both programs. Overall, the University of San Francisco women’s team, for the second consecutive year, earned the highest overall team GPA with a 3.80. The highest men’s team GPA, 3.53 came from the University of New Mexico.
