Vincent Testaverde Gets Invite to Bucs' Minicamp
ALBANY, N.Y. — Former University at Albany quarterback Vincent Testaverde has been invited to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ rookie minicamp May 10-11.
Testaverde, who also had participated in Tampa Bay’s pro day this past month, started eight games for the Great Danes as a redshirt senior in 2018, throwing for 1,714 yards and 11 touchdowns. He threw for more than 200 yards in six of his eight appearances.
The Odessa, Fla., native and son of longtime NFL quarterback Vinny Testaverde had transferred to UAlbany from Miami (Fla.) in the fall of 2017. He also played one season at Texas Tech.
Vinny Testaverde, a Heisman Trophy winner at Miami (Fla.), was picked No. 1 overall by the Bucs in the 1987 NFL Draft and spent six seasons with the team. He is the franchise’s all-time leading passer.
