ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany football team is nationally ranked for a second consecutive week, coming in at No. 24 in the STATS Football Championship Subdivision Poll.

UAlbany also is receiving votes in the Coaches Poll.

The Great Danes, who were ranked No. 19 in last week’s STATS Poll, are coming off a 6-0 loss to Elon, which moved up to No. 18 from No. 23 with the victory. Elon also entered the Coaches Poll this week at No. 23.

Seven Colonial Athletic Association teams are ranked in the current STATS Poll, including this coming Saturday’s opponent, Richmond, which is No. 14 in both polls.

Six CAA teams are represented in the Coaches Poll.

This will mark the third consecutive week the Great Danes are facing a Top 25 team. On Sept. 23, UAlbany beat No. 7/8 Villanova, 19-10, for the program’s first win over a Top 10 opponent.

UAlbany also had been ranked No. 24 in the STATS preseason poll.

The Great Danes’ next home game is Oct. 21 against Maine for Homecoming at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.
