He is named alongside Stony Brook’s Amanda Stead (women’s track) and Kaylyn Gordon (women’s field), and New Hampshire’s Michael Shanahan (men’s field). Gibbons, a junior from St. Albans, N.Y., won both the 60m hurdles and the 60m dash at the Middlebury Winterfell Meet. Gibbons’ time of 8.05 in the hurdles, while short of the school-record tying 7.96 he ran in the Great Dane Classic a week earlier, set a Middlebury Virtue Fieldhouse facility record. Gibbons is the first repeat performer for UAlbany this season, and his latest award brings the Great Danes’ total to six through five weeks of competition, though UAlbany has been active in just four of those weeks. The Great Danes next will return to the Armory for the first time since 2015 to compete in the Columbia Invitational starting January 25.
