Short Story: In their final race of the 2018-19 indoor season, Hannah Reinhardt and Kyle Kyle Gronostaj of the men’s and women’s University at Albany track and field team broke a pair of school records at the ECAC-IC4A meet on Sunday.
On their way to placing second and fourth, respectively, Reinhardt and Gronstaj broke the program’s 3,000 meter records in their respective sports.
How It Happened
Hannah Reinhardt set a new school record in the women’s 3,000 meter run in 9:21.05, to place second overall in the event; Cara Sherman placed seventh in 9:35.23.
Kyle Gronostaj established a new school record in the men’s 3,000 meter run in 8:09.70, to place fourth overall in the event. Gronostaj broke Ryan Udvadia's time of 8:13.50 set last year.
Matthew JeanPierre had the third fastest time in the semi-finals in the men’s 800 meter in 1:50.47 which is good for fourth all-time; Joey Somerville ran a personal best time of 1:52.01 for eighth all-time.
