Lowry opened the season with a second-place finish in the 1,500 at the Spring Break Classic, crossing the line in 4:01.15. He doubled up at the Dogfight against Connecticut, placing fourth in the 800 in 1:58.40 and fifth in the 1,500 in 4:06.55. He set a personal best in the 800 at the Upstate Classic, winning the race in 1:53.47. He was hand-timed in 3:56.5 in the 1,500 at the UAlbany Spring Classic to finish in second place. He also won the 800 at the same meet in 1:56.53. Lowry ran on both the 4x800 and distance medley relays at the Penn Relays. He split 1:51.81 on the 4x800, on the team that would finish fourth in the College division in 7:31.55. Lowry also ran the 800 leg on the distance medley relay, splitting 1:51.27 on the team that would finish eighth in the College division in 9:57.80. Lowry set an official personal best in the 1,500 at the America East Outdoor Championships, placing fourth overall in the finals, after qualifying third, in 3:57.80. He also ran a leg on UAlbany’s fourth-place finishing 4x800 relay. Lowry set a personal best in the 800 at the UAlbany Purple & Gold Last Chance Meet, placing second in 1:51.39. Finally, Lowry once again ran a personal best in the 800 at IC4A’s to end the season. He placed 11th overall with a time of 1:50.53.
Lowry opened the indoor season placing fourth in the mile at the Penn State Indoor Relays, finishing with a time of 4:20.04. He also placed third as a member of the 4x800 relay team that ran 7:46.98. At the UAlbany Great Dane Classic, Lowry ran a personal best in the 1,000 in 2:32.74 to finish 15th. He also ran a leg on the fifth-place finishing distance medley relay. He ran a personal best in the 800 at Cornell’s Upstate Challenge, finishing seventh in 1:56.57. He also ran a leg on the first-place finishing 4x800 relay. Lowry set a personal best in the mile at the Columbia Invitational, finishing 24th in 4:15.63. At the Armory Collegiate Invitational, Lowry ran a personal best in his third consecutive meet, this time in the 1,000, finishing 16th in 2:28.15. As a member of the fourth-place finishing 4x800 relay team at the Millrose Games, Lowry split 1:52 as the team’s anchor leg. Lowry’s previous best split was 1:54. Lowry ran on the 4x800 relay again at the America East Indoor Championships, helping the team place first overall. He also placed sixth in the 1,000 in 2:29.86, and seventh in the mile in 4:16.52. Lowry ended his season at IC4A Championships, where he was a member of the 4x800 relay team. The team qualified first in the preliminary round with a time of 7:27.68. In the finals, the team placed third in a season best time of 7:26.02. Lowry split 1:52.9 in the preliminary round and 1:53.0 in the finals.
Lowry’s raced in four meets during the season, opening at the America East Pre-Conference meet, where he placed 38th with a time of 26:53.8. His best 8K time came at the America East Championship, where he ran 26:23.0. He was a member of the Northeast Regional Championship squad, where he ran his only 10K of the season in 32:40.0.
Lowry recorded two first place relay finishes on the season, in the 4x4 at the Capital District Classic and the 4x8 at the America East Outdoor Championships. He earned a fifth place finish in the UConn Men’s Dogfight in the 1,500, and two fourth place finishes at the Upstate Track & Field Classic in the 800 and the 4x4 relay. In addition to his first place 4x4 at the Capital District Classic, he ran his fastest 800 of the season, finishing in third place.
Lowry opened the season at the Penn State Nittany Lion Challenge, running his fastest 800 of the season and finishing in 11th place. He was a frequent member on both the UAlbany 4x8 and distance medley relay teams, competing in both at the America East Indoor Championships, and the former at IC4A’s and the Millrose Games.
Lowry competed in three meets in his inaugural season as a Dane. He finished 30th overall in his the America East Pre-Conference meet, and ran his fastest time at the UAlbany XC Invitational.
Lowry was a two-time 4x8 relay national champion at SUNY Delhi. He was also an outdoor national runner up in 2012 in the 800 and the 4x4 relay, where he split 49.5. He won the SUNY Delhi Coach’s Award in 2012. His personal bests at SUNY Delhi include 1:54 in the 800, 2:32 in the 1,000, and 4:02 in the 1,500.
Lowry was a four-year letter-winner in track & field at Cornwall, where he also competed in wrestling, soccer, and cross country. He was named team MVP in cross country and indoor track as a senior.
Dylan Lowry was born on February 4, 1992 to Robert and Lauren Lowry. He has one brother, Andrew, and two sisters, Meredith and Heather. He is majoring in human biology.
