Pirnie opened the season at the Spring Break Classic, placing seventh in the 800m with a time of 1:55.70. At the Texas Relays, he ran on the sixth-place finishing 4x800m relay, splitting 1:53.9. He also ran the 800m leg in the distance medley relay that finished 10th, splitting 1:52.9. Pirnie won the 800m at the Dogfight against Connecticut, finishing with a time of 1:56.24. At the UAlbany Spring Classic, Pirnie placed eighth in the 1,500m with a time of 4:04.30. Pirnie was a member of UAlbany’s 4x800m relay team that placed fourth in the college division at the Penn Relays, splitting 1:55.74.
Pirnie opened the season with a victory in the 1,000m at the Penn State Indoor Relays, running a personal-best time of 2:28.71. He placed third in the 800m at the Great Dane Classic, finishing in 1:53.50. He set a personal-best in the mile at the Columbia Invitational, finishing 35th in 4:20.52. At the Armory Collegiate Invitational, Pirnie ran on UAlbany’s victorious 4x800m relay, in addition to competing in the open 1,000m. Pirnie ran on the fourth place finishing 4x800m relay at the Millrose Games. At the America East Indoor Championships, Pirnie set a season-best in the 800m, finishing third in 1:53.23. Pirnie ended his season at IC4A Championships, running on the 4x800m relay. He split 1:51.5 in the preliminary round, and 1:51.3 in the finals, with the team finishing third overall.
Pirnie’s best performance was a 19th place finish at Lehigh’s Paul Short Invitational, where he ran his best time of the season at 26:07.4.
Pirnie opened his outdoor season setting a new personal-best in the 800m at 1:53.06 for second place at the Spring Break Classic. In his next meet, he set a personal-best in the 1,500m, finishing fourth in 4:00.15. He earned a second place finish at the UConn Men’s Dogfight in the 800m, and a third place finish in the same event at the Larry Ellis Invitational, improving his best time once again to 1:52.58. After competing in UAlbany’s 4x800m at Penn Relays, Pirnie set another personal-best in the 800m, finishing second overall at the America East Outdoor Championships in 1:51.56. He ended his season setting one more personal-best in the 800m at IC4A’s, finishing ninth overall in 1:50.55.
Pirnie set a new personal-best in the 1,000m in the only meet he competed in the event, finishing 15th at the UAlbany Great Dane Classic with a time of 2:32.66. His ran his best 800m at the America East Indoor Championships, finishing second overall in 1:53.84. He ended the season competing on UAlbany’s distance medley relay team that finished seventh overall at IC4A’s.
Pirnie competed in only one meet during the season, finishing 27th overall at the UAlbany XC Invitational with a time of 27:19.0.
Pirnie competed exclusively in the 800m as an individual during his first outdoor season at UAlbany. He placed first in the event at the UConn Men’s Dogfight with a time of 1:53.98. His fastest time in the event came at Princeton’s Larry Ellis Invitational, where he ran a new personal-best of 1:53.10. Pirnie was a regular member of UAlbany’s 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams, running each three times, including the latter at both the America East Outdoor Championships and IC4A’s.
Pirnie’s first meet was the Penn State Nittany Lion Challenge, where he placed third in the 800m in 1:54.30, his fastest time of the season. He was a member of the second place distance medley relay at the America East Indoor championships, and competed in the relay again at IC4A’s.
Pirnie’s only meet was the Monmouth XC Kick-Off, where he placed 44th with a time of 20:30.8.

Pirnie was a four-year letter-winner and National Honor Society member at Hilton High School. He qualified for states three times in both indoor and outdoor track.
Andrew Joseph Pirnie is the son of Alexander and Patricia Pirnie. He has two brothers, Ross and Evan, and one sister, Sarah. His major is currently undecided.
