#21 UAlbany Opens America East Play Against UNH
ALBANY, NY—The No. 21 University at Albany Field Hockey team prepares to open up America East play this Saturday, Sept 16th against the New Hampshire Wildcats.

UAlbany will start conference play with a 2-3 record including a win over No. 20 Boston University. Last time on the turf, UAlbany fell to No. 3 Syracuse 2-0. Freshman Katie MacCallum laid down the first goal against BU, assisted by Frederike Helmke. Helmke then took over scoring two additional goals off of two assists by Dana Bozek. Against Syracuse, the Danes fell from two goals scored off penalty corners.
New Hampshire will head to Saturday with a 3-2 record. Last weekend the Wildcats went 1-1 against No. 17 University of Iowa. In the first meeting on Friday, the Wildcats claimed the win in overtime 3-2, but on Sunday Iowa took home the victory 7-1. UNH’s shot percentage is currently .171 led by junior forward Katie Audino. Audino leads the Wildcats in goals (3), assists(3), and shot percentage (.750).
2016 UALBANY – UNH MEETINGS
In 2016 the Great Danes split with UNH during regular season play. UAlbany took the first match-up at New Hampshire 4-0. It was a team effort with goals from four different Danes: Paula Heuser, Megan Ma, Frederike Helmke, and Molly Mariano. In the second meeting, the score was tied 1-1 looking like it was going to go into overtime. However, the Wildcats pulled the win in the 68th minute to end the game 2-1.
