UAlbany Sports Information   11-28-2017

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be collecting items for the Regional Food Bank on Wednesday as part of the America East Food Frenzy.

SAAC representatives will be collecting canned goods and any non-perishables from fans at the men’s basketball game against Colgate, which tips off at 7 p.m. at SEFCU Arena.

SAAC is also accepting online entries through “You Give Goods” at https://yougivegoods.com/albanyfallfoodfrenzy. The deadline to give is Nov. 30.

The America East Food Frenzy, now in its third year, is an initiative that challenges each school in the conference to collect 1,100 items for a local food bank during the academic year. All canned goods, save for one box, will be donated to each institution’s charity of choice. For UAlbany, that charity is the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern, N.Y. The one box of goods set aside is donated to another institution’s charity of choice to signify unity in the community service event.
