ALBANY, N.Y. – UAlbany will be celebrating each of the program's 100 Division I titles starting today and counting down 100 days to the first football game of the 2017 season via UAlbany social media.
All 100 UAlbany conference titles in the Division I era will be honored in order via the UAlbanySports Twitter account, starting with the 2002 UAlbany football title in the Northeast Conference and finishing with the 2017 UAlbany softball America East Tournament championship. The UAlbanySports Facebook and Instagram accounts will also have the championship photos.
The 100 titles will count down to the first UAlbany football game in 2017 at Old Dominion on Saturday, September 2nd at 6 p.m.
UAlbany earned its 100th conference title in May with UAlbany softball taking the America East Tournament. The Great Danes won nine America East titles in the 2016-17 season, a new league record. The 100 titles include 93 in the America East, six in the Northeast Conference and one in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
UAlbany has also earned five consecutive America East Commissioner's Cups for top sports program in the conference.
