ALBANY, N.Y.— UAlbany Softball will host the Cornell Big Red in a double header on Wednesday, April 5th beginning at 3:00 PM.
Last time out, UAlbany hosted the Stony Brook Seawolves in their first conference game of the 2017 season. The Great Danes fell in both games 2-5 and 5-7 but managed 17 total hits. In the first game of the doubleheader, senior Liz Snow set a UAlbany record of 52 career homeruns.
Moving forward to Cornell, UAlbany looks to improve their defensive end of the game and eliminate crucial errors.
The Cornell Big Red has an overall season record of 6-11 and an Ivy League record of 1-3. This Monday Cornell faced Marist College falling in both games of the doubleheader 2-4 and 1-3. The team’s current batting average for the season is .265.
Player to Watch: The freshman infielder Bridgette Rooney from Hopewell Junction, N.Y currently leads the team in homeruns and total bases. The freshman has been on two five-game hit streaks this season.
