UAlbany Softball Reschedules Game Against Siena to 3/30

ALBANY, NY-- UAlbany Softball will host the Siena Saints March 30th, a day later than the original scheduled game on March 29th that was postponed due to field conditions.

GREAT DANES ARE BACK
The Great Danes last took the field at Central Connecticut State in a double header that was originally scheduled to take place at University Field, but was moved due to field conditions. UAlbany went 0-2 in the double header only playing ten innings combined.

SCOUTING SIENA
Looking forward to tomorrow’s match up the Siena Saints are 3-16 overall. Siena has two big wins over Robert Morris (3-2) and (9-8), and an additional win against UNC Wilmington (4-1). Senior Chelsea Drew leads the Saints with a slugging percentage of .686, hitting in 13 RBIs and five homeruns for the season.

LOOKING BACK TO 2016
In last year’s double header between Siena and UAlbany on April 14. Siena took the first game 10-0 in five innings with a standout performance from Siena’s 2016 senior catcher, Sammy Smaldone who went 3-3 at the plate. However, the Great Danes regrouped and took the second game with a score of 13-8. A 2016 freshman, Celeste Verdolivo took the win in the circle striking out six batters. Liz Snow helped set the Great Danes on top with four RBIs and three hits.

The Great Danes and the Saints will match up at 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM for a doubleheader which will take place on University Field.
