Celeste Verdolivo was able to keep the Drexel (5-7) offense at bay, striking out four in a complete game shutout.
UAlbany got on the scoreboard early, plating a run in the second inning. Chelsea Henige picked up her first hit of the day with a leadoff double. Two batters later, Mariah Miramontez scored Henige with single to right field.
The Great Danes were able to add an insurance run in the sixth with an RBI single from Kelly Spear. Spear brought home Sarah Petzold who got herself into scoring position by way of a triple.
The Dragons threatened with a pair of runners in the top of the seventh, but Verdolivo retired the side to solidify the team’s victory.
Maranda Jimenez kept Hofstra’s (5-10) offense quiet, allowing one run in 4.0 innings, but Mackenzie Suto shutout the Great Danes in 7.0 innings of work.
Henige found her way on base three times by way of walk but the Great Danes offense would leave her stranded.
The Pride opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the first and added another on a sacrifice bunt in the sixth.
Chloe Lewis record a pair of strikeouts in 3.0 innings of relief for UAlbany.
