UAlbany Sports Information   08-17-2017

ALBANY, N.Y. – The UAlbany women’s soccer has added Vivian Vega as a team captain for the 2017 season.  Vega joins Caroline Kopp and Savanah Courtney as team captains for UAlbany this year.

“I am super excited to be named captain next to my teammates Sav and Caroline,” said Vega. “As a senior captain, I’m looking forward to help our team meet our goals.  I am so grateful to have been given this opportunity and I am excited to use my experience in a different way to add to the team.”

Vega, a three-time America East All-Conference player, is second all-time in UAlbany history with 20 goals, including five last season.  She scored five goals last year, including the game-winner in the America East title game vs. Hartford.

The Great Danes kick off the 2017 season on Sunday, August 20th at 6 p.m. in Norfolk, Virginia vs. Old Dominion.
