Dieroff to Attend NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum
ALBANY, N.Y. - University at Albany junior Kimberly Dieroff has been selected by the America East to attend the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum taking place this week in Orlando, Fla.
Since 2010, the NCAA has held the Leadership Forum for Divisions I, II, and III at the same site on the same weekend, after previously hosting several forums broken down regionally. Student-athletes, coaches, and administrators meet at the Forum to discuss the student-athlete experience.
“I am extremely honored to have been chosen to represent the America East conference at the NCAA Leadership Forum,” said Dieroff. “I am very excited to get the experience to meet and interact with approximately 300 student-athletes, coaches, and administrators from all over our nation. It is an amazing opportunity to further my leadership skills while learning alongside other student-athletes.”
Dieroff, a defender/midfielder on the women’s soccer team, was elected president of the UAlbany Student-Athlete Advisory Committee following the 2017 season. She will represent the America East at the Forum alongside Hartford men’s track & field athlete Mark Barthelemy.
“It comes as no surprise that Kim has been selected for such a prestigious opportunity to represent our conference, our university, our athletic department, and our program at the NCAA Leadership Forum,” said women’s soccer head coach Nick Bochette. “Since her arrival on campus, Kim has been a paradigm of leadership and virtue. She is the embodiment of the term student-athlete, and will undoubtedly have an educated, passionate, and valuable perspective to offer her peers and colleagues during this forum.
“These types of cross-sectional, collaborative, and interactive professional gatherings are essential to facilitating meaningful communication and innovation in college athletics; and I can think of no better representative to speak on behalf of America East and UAlbany student-athletes than Kim,” Bochette continued.
The Leadership Forum takes place in Orlando from April 11-14.
