ALBANY, N.Y. – Three University at Albany women’s soccer players have earned spots on United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region teams, which were announced Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Caroline Kopp, who made an All-Region team for the fourth consecutive year, and Mariah Williams are the first two players in Great Danes history to be named to the Second Team. Meghan Cavanaugh earned Third-Team honors.

This marks the first time UAlbany has seen multiple players named to USC All-Region teams. The Atlantic Region includes schools from the Atlantic Coast Conference, America East Conference and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, among others.

Kopp, the America East’s Defender of the Year, led the league with 14 assists this season. The senior from Fayetteville, N.Y., will graduate as the program’s all-time leader in both career (27) and single-season (14) assists.

Williams, a senior forward/midfielder from Utica, N.Y., was named the America East’s Striker of the Year after leading the league with 17 goals and 38 points. She’s also the program’s all-time career leader in both goals (34) and points (78).

Cavanaugh, a redshirt sophomore midfielder from Clifton Park, N.Y., was an America East First-Team All-Conference player. She was second on the Great Danes with eight goals and 21 points.

All three players helped UAlbany capture the America East title and advance to the NCAA Tournament. The Great Danes finished with a 14-7-2 record, including a 5-2-1 mark in America East play.
