UAlbany Sports Information   06-25-2018

ALBANY, N.Y.Savanah Courtney, Caroline Kopp and Kimberly Dieroff will serve as captains for the UAlbany women’s soccer team in 2018, announced on Monday.

Courtney and Kopp will serve as captains for their second straight year, while Dieroff is a captain for the first time.

“We are fortunate to have a great group of young women throughout our roster, and many who have fantastic leadership qualities,” said UAlbany head coach Nick Bochette. “These three are paradigms of so many of the values our teams strives for: integrity, passion, excellence and many more.  To have Caroline, Sav and Kimmy at the core of our group will ensure our culture continues to grow in the right way.”

All three served as starters last season for a team that earned the 3-seed in the America East Tournament, winning its last three regular season games to finish 4-3-1 in the league and 6-11-1 overall.  The Great Danes had 1-0 victories over Vermont and Stony Brook, the two participants in the league title game.

UAlbany begins its season on Friday, August 17th at 10 p.m. ET at the University of Arizona.
