UAlbany Women's Soccer Announces 2017 Schedule
ALBANY, N.Y. – The two-time defending America East Tournament champion UAlbany women's soccer team has announced its schedule for the 2017 campaign.
UAlbany is set for a 17-game regular season schedule across eight different states, including two games in Colorado and another in Missouri. The Great Danes will play seven home games at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium plus a full America East slate.
Nick Bochette takes over as head coach for the 2017 season after serving as the associate head coach the last two years, and the first assistant previous to that.
“This is an exciting schedule that will challenge us in every way,” said Bochette. “We believe that playing quality teams in difficult environments is the best possible preparation for our America East slate.”
In 2016, UAlbany won its second straight America East Tournament after picking the program's first-ever regular season league title. UAlbany finished 11-8-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the America East, including a nine-game unbeaten streak through the America East Tournament. UAlbany defeated Hartford 2-1 in the league title game for an NCAA Tournament automatic qualifier, falling to UConn 4-2 in the first round.
“We have a young, but experienced group that I believe will relish the opportunity to play such a diverse and challenging schedule,” said Bochette.
