Nick Bochette is in his third year as head coach after being promoted from associate head coach in March 2017. He also had served as the acting head coach in 2015.

In his second year, Bochette spearheaded the most successful season in program history. The 2018 team, which finished with a record of 14-7-2 and 5-2-1 in the America East, set records for program wins (14), National RPI Ranking (96), winning percentage, and goals scored in a single year (49). Additionally, they recorded the program’s first-ever win against a PAC-12 opponent when they defeated No. 25 Arizona, a loss that stood as Arizona’s only home defeat during the 2018 season.

The 2018 squad had a memorable 2018 America East campaign in which it defeated or tied every conference rival between the regular season and post season. The Great Danes began their conference slate by tying defending champions Stony Brook and finished on an unprecedented six-game streak that culminated in a resounding 5-1 victory in the America East Championship hosted at Tom and Mary Casey Stadium. During this run of six games, UAlbany notched 15 goals-for, one goal-against, and five shutouts.

The 2018 Great Danes captured three out of the five major awards in the America East, as Jada Colbert became the third freshman to be named America East Rookie of the Year; Caroline Kopp won her second consecutive America East Defender of the Year award; and Mariah Williams became the first UAlbany student-athlete to be named America East Striker of the year. Meghan Cavanaugh joined Kopp and Williams on the America East All-Conference First Team, while Gina Bracamonte joined Colbert on the Second Team. Twin sisters Jada and Jasmine Colbert were named to the America East All-Conference Rookie Team, and Savanah Courtney and Caroline Kopp were named to the All-Academic Team.

Outside of the conference, three student-athletes were recognized as United Soccer Coaches All-Region performers. Meghan Cavanaugh was named to the Third Team while both Mariah Williams and Caroline Kopp were named to the Second Team. Kopp, who was the programs first-ever recipient of NSCAA/USC All-Region honors in 2015, made it a perfect 4-for-4 during her career at UAlbany. Williams finished the year joint fifth in the NCAA for Total Goals (17), and Kopp finished tied for 4th in the NCAA for Assists.

In his first year as the head coach, Bochette's Great Danes won their final three games in the conference regular season to earn the No. 3-seed in the America East Tournament at 4-3-1 and 6-11-1 overall, a record that included victories over Stony Brook, Siena and Iona.  Caroline Kopp was the first-ever UAlbany player to be named America East Defender of the Year. She was joined by Gina Bracamonte on the America East All-Conference First Team, with Mariah Williams on the Second Team.  In addition, Vivian Vega tied the all-time program record with 23 career goals.

In 2015, during his time as acting head coach, Bochette lead the Great Danes to five victories, tying the most in program history in pre-America East play. The team earned road victories over Atlantic-10 opponents Davidson and Rhode Island during Bochette's term as acting head coach.  That season, UAlbany won its first-ever America East Tournament and earned the conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament.

Bochette is the sixth head coach in UAlbany women’s soccer Division I history.  With him assisting the program, the Great Danes tied a program-record 11 wins in each 2015 and 2016 en route to America East Tournament titles, plus a league regular-season title in the latter year. In addition, UAlbany earned the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) Team Academic Award all four seasons of his tenure for earning at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA during the academic season, currently standing at 3.45 for the team.

Bochette has been with the program the past six years, including two as the associate head coach and the previous two as the first assistant coach under Caitlin Cucchiella. Together, they led UAlbany women’s soccer to its first two America East Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances.

Under Bochette, Alana Brennan became the winningest goalie in UAlbany Division I history, the program's all-time leader in saves plus stands with the best goals against average for all UAlbany keepers that have started at least 25 games.

Prior to arriving at UAlbany, Bochette was a men's soccer assistant coach at his alma mater, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The Engineers made three NCAA Division III appearances in 2008, 2009 and 2012 under Bochette's guidance. He was also a member of the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year in 2008, 2009 and 2012. Bochette coached a goalkeeper to All-Liberty League honors in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012.

Bochette also served as an men’s soccer assistant coach at Hartwick College in 2008.

Bochette played professionally for the Wilmington Hammerheads from 2006-08.

He lives with his wife, Megan, and his two daughters, Scarlett and Tessa.
