ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women’s basketball team has put together a season-high eight-game winning streak, building momentum for the second half of the America East schedule. Tuesday, the latest CollegeInsider.com Women’s Mid-Major Poll showed the Great Danes improved one spot to 16, their highest ranking of the season so far.
With two more wins last week, over Vermont and Stony Brook at home, the Great Danes are now 19-3 overall and 8-1 in the America East. The team hasn’t lost a game since January 3 against Hartford. As was the case last week, UAlbany is the only America East institution represented in the poll after preseason America East favorite New Hampshire fell out of the rankings.
After nine games in 25 days in January, the women’s team has their bye on Wednesday before visiting New Hampshire on Saturday, February 3.
