ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women’s basketball team held steady week-to-week in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll, maintaining their ranking of 19 from last week. It is the third consecutive week in which the Great Danes have claimed a spot in the poll, originally debuting at 22.
The Great Danes most recently defeated Dartmouth at SEFCU Arena over the weekend, upending the Big Green by 15 points. UAlbany rolled through December undefeated, winning all seven games on the schedule during the month. Five of the seven games were played away from SEFCU Arena, and twice the Danes played three games in a week or less.
Elsewhere in the poll, Florida Gulf Coast wrested the top spot from Green Bay, and New Hampshire still ranks one position ahead of UAlbany through the end of the non-conference schedule. The Great Danes will play the Wildcats for the first of two regular-season meetings on Saturday, January 6 at SEFCU Arena.
UAlbany opens its America East schedule on Wednesday at Hartford.
