ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women’s basketball team will begin a three-game road trip on Sunday when they visit Holy Cross. It is the Great Danes’ fourth game in their first seven to start the season to be played on the road.
UAlbany last hosted St. John’s while riding a four-game winning streak since the season-opening loss at Maryland. This year’s Great Danes got their first road win in the second game on the schedule, equaling a feat that took 10 games to accomplish last year. St. John’s, however, snapped the winning streak, handing UAlbany only its second home loss in its last 34 games at SEFCU Arena.
Against the Red Storm, Jessica Féquière scored 21 points, marking the fourth time this season she has exceeded 20 in a game. Mackenzie Trpcic recorded eight assists for the third straight game. Tiana-Jo Carter recorded two blocks, moving into a tie for fourth place in program history. Finally, Chyanna Canada set a career high in points for the second time in four games with a final tally of 11.
Holy Cross last played at Brown, falling narrowly 82-78. Sunday’s game marks the beginning of a three-game home stand for the Crusaders, which is bookended by America East opponents (UAlbany and Vermont). Holy Cross has played just one game at home so far this season and five on the road, including its first four straight.
After playing Holy Cross, UAlbany will visit Manhattan on December 6, followed by Siena on December 9. After playing Siena, which will be the Danes’ fifth game in 13 days, the team will have a break until December 17 when they return home to face St. Bonaventure.
