Women's Basketball Hosts St. John's

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women’s basketball team will make a quick stop at home Thursday before a three-game road trip when they host St. John’s at SEFCU Arena.

UAlbany (4-1) has won its last four straight games since losing the season opener at Maryland. Most recently, the Great Danes defeated Central Connecticut State on the road 72-60, earning their third road win of the season. By comparison, last year’s team didn’t get their first road win until their 10th game. 

In two of the last three games, redshirt senior Jessica Féquière has scored more than 25 points, including a career-high 27 against Fordham. Additionally, in each of the last two games, sophomore Mackenzie Trpcic has recorded eight assists. 

St. John’s last played three games in three days at the Gulf Coast Showcase shortly following the Thanksgiving break. The Red Storm defeated their first opponent, Western Michigan, 76-48. They lost to #3 South Carolina 76-58 and then lost to #17 South Florida 68-59. The three games were played in Estero, Florida. 

Following the game against St. John’s on Thursday, the Great Danes will their next three games on the road. First, they will travel to Holy Cross on December 3, followed by Manhattan on December 6, and close at Siena on December 9.
