UAlbany Men's Basketball Battles Stony Brook in AE Quarters
ALBANY, N.Y. – The 4-seed UAlbany men’s basketball begins the 2018 America East Tournament with a game against rival 5-seed Stony Brook on Saturday, March 3rd at 7 p.m. in SEFCU for the quarterfinal round.

The game will be broadcast online on AE on ESPN3 and will be on the radio in the Albany arena on 104.5 the Team.
The winner of this contest will advance to the America East semifinal round on Tuesday, March 6th, with a game either at 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
This is also a rematch of last year’s America East Tournament semifinal round, with then 3-seed UAlbany winning 63-56 at 2-seed Stony Brook.
UAlbany enters the quarterfinals on a two-game winning streak, last defeating Binghamton 71-54 on Tuesday, finishing in fourth place in the America East at 10-6 and 22-9 overall. Stony Brook fell in its season finale vs. Vermont 69-60 on February 24th, having fifth place in the league at 7-9 and 12-18 overall.
UAlbany has won three straight vs. Stony Brook, sweeping the regular season after winning 57-50 on the road on January 27th. UAlbany leads the all-time series 44-30, with Stony Brook leading during the America East era 23-19. Meeting in seven of the last eight AE Tournaments, UAlbany is 4-3 against the Seawolves in the tournament, having won the last four meetings.

SENIORS - WINNINGEST CLASS IN UALBANY HISTORY: UAlbany senior class stands with 91 wins in the past four seasons, tying the 2015-16 class with the most wins ever. In total, the senior class has a record at UAlbany of 91-40, including the 2015 America East Tournament title and three postseason appearances. Senior Greig Stire has played in all 131 games in that span.
CREMO APPROACHING SEASON SCORING RECORD: Joe Cremo is approaching the UAlbany single season scoring record. This year, averaging 17.6 points per game, he has totaled 547 points. The record at UAlbany is held by teammate David Nichols, who had 625 points last season.
Cremo’s personal season record was last season, scoring 553 points as a sophomore.
FOURTH STRAIGHT 20-WIN SEASON: With its win at UMass Lowell on February 15th, UAlbany secured its fourth consecutive 20+ win season, and fifth in six years. In addition, UAlbany has won at least 15 games in 12 of the past 13 seasons.
EIGHT WINNING LEAGUE SEASONS IN A ROW: UAlbany has earned a winning record in America East play each of the past seven seasons starting in the 2010-11 year, including a combined 28-4 tally from 2015-16. UAlbany has earned 11 winning seasons in America East play in the last 13 years under Will Brown.
BOX OUT!: UAlbany has outrebounded its opponents in 25 of 31 contests, standing with the best rebounding margin in the America East at +7.3, and 13th in all of Division I. Second in the league is New Hampshire at +5.8. Greig Stire (8.3), Travis Charles (5.6) and Alex Foster (4.7) stand in the top-20 in the America East in rebounding.
WELCOME TO NEW YORK: UAlbany will play ten regular season games against teams from the Empire State, including seven at home. UAlbany will take on Iona, Oneonta, Colgate, Columbia, Siena, Canisius, Stony Brook (twice) and Binghamton (twice). This season, UAlbany is 9-1 against in-state opponents.

Redshirt sophomore forward Akwasi Yeboah is 6th in the America East in scoring, leading the Seawolves with 15.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
