UAlbany Men's Basketball Begins Three Game Homestand vs. Colgate
ALBANY, N.Y. – The UAlbany men’s basketball team has returned home to play its next three games, starting with a mid-week matchup against Colgate on Wednesday, November 29th at 7 p.m.
The game will be broadcast online on AE on ESPN3, with Rodger Wyland and Jeremy Friel on the call. Brian Mariano will have the radio call on 104.5 the Team.

For this game, UAlbany SAAC will be collecting items for the Regional Food Bank on Wednesday as part of the America East Food Frenzy. The America East Food Frenzy, now in its third year, is an initiative that challenges each school in the conference to collect 1,100 items for a local food bank during the academic year.
UAlbany has come back to SEFCU after playing its last three games on the road.
UAlbany, from the America East, suffered its first loss of the season in an 81-73 road contest at Monmouth on Monday, standing at 6-1 overall. Patriot League representative Colgate picked up a 77-71 home win over Columbia last Saturday to come in at 3-2 this year.
On December 10, 2016, UAlbany earned a 74-66 victory at Colgate for its third straight win in the series, and sixth in the last seven meetings. Colgate leads the all-time series between the two 14-8.
UAlbany is looking for a sweep against Patriot League competition, having earned road victories over Boston University and Holy Cross. Colgate has a win over UMBC and will face Binghamton this weekend.

TOP SHOOTING TEAM IN THE AMERICA EAST: Through seven games in the season, UAlbany stands with the third highest scoring offense in the America East, earning 83.0 points per game, including four 80+ point games, with a conference best 50.8% field goal rate.
BOX OUT!: Through seven games, UAlbany has outrebounded its opponents in all contests, standing with the best rebounding margin in the America East at +11.7. Second in the league is Vermont at +4.2. Greig Stire (6.3) and Travis Charles (6.1) stand in the top-10 in the America East in rebounding.
FIRST 6-0 START IN DIVISION I, SINCE 1985-86: This season, UAlbany earned its first-ever 6-0 start in its Division I history, the first three wins against opponents picked to finish top three in their respective leagues in the preseason: Iona, Boston University and Yale.
The last 6-0 start for UAlbany came in the DII era in 1985-86 and has only been achieved in two seasons since the 1956-57 year.
WELCOME TO NEW YORK: UAlbany will play ten regular season games against teams from the Empire State, including seven at home. UAlbany will take on Iona, Oneonta, Colgate, Columbia, Siena, Canisius, Stony Brook (twice) and Binghamton (twice). This season, UAlbany is 2-0 against in-state opponents.
BASKETBALL IN ONE HAND, DEGREE IN THE OTHER: Two UAlbany players have earned their undergraduate degree and suit up as graduate students this year. Travis Charles graduated from UAlbany in 2017 with a B.A. in African Studies, while Alex Foster graduated from Bradley in 2017 with a degree in sports communication.
SCOUTING COLGATE: Colgate is off to its best start since the 2008-09 season. The Raider have four players who average double digit scoring, led by sophomore forward Will Rayman, the team’s top scorer at 15.6 points per game and rebounder with seven boards a contest. Senior guard Sean O’Brien runs the point, averaging 12.2 points, six rebounds and 4.8 assists per contest.
