UAlbany Sports Information   11-08-2018

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men’s basketball team has selected three players to serve as team captains for the upcoming 2018-19 season:  Devonte Campbell, Ahmad Clark, and Adam Lulka.

“I am excited to name Devonte, Ahmad, and Adam captains for the upcoming season,” said head coach Will Brown.  “They are three high character individuals that understand our program and expectations.  They have the respect of their teammates and the coaching staff.  We are looking forward to working with them and helping them develop in to effective leaders over the course of the season.”

Campbell, a senior forward from Vaughan, Ontario, is the most experienced returning player on the roster.  Last year, he started in all 31 games in which he appeared, averaging 6.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.  He was named to the America East All-Defensive team for the second straight season.

Clark, a junior guard from Bowie, Md., appeared in 29 games last season and made one start.  He averaged 3.7 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.9 assists, and is projected to move into a starting role this season.

Lulka, a redshirt-freshman from Sydney, Australia, is one of three Australian players who redshirted last season, and who also projects to land in a starting role.  Of UAlbany’s six returners, three redshirted, and only Campbell and Clark saw significant playing time last season.

The Great Danes open at Iona on Friday night at 8:00 p.m.  The game can be streamed live on ESPN3.
