UAlbany Men's Basketball to Play Charity Exhibition at WVU on October 28

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The UAlbany men’s basketball will be playing in a charity exhibition game at West Virginia on Saturday, October 28th at 7:30 p.m., with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

UAlbany and West Virginia each received an NCAA waiver to play the exhibition game, with all proceeds benefiting hurricane relief efforts.

“We are looking forward to playing in a Hurricane Relief game at West Virginia to help raise money and continued awareness, as so many people worldwide have been negatively impacted by the hurricanes,” said UAlbany head coach Will Brown. “We are excited to have an opportunity to compete against one of the best programs in the country.  We appreciate Coach Huggins affording us this opportunity.  It is good to know that we can use the game of basketball to assist so many people who are suffering.  All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross hurricane relief efforts.  We are anticipating a great crowd and environment at WVU Coliseum for such a great cause!”

For those attending game at the WVU Coliseum, all seating with be general admission, and donations are requested for the game.  All funds will be donated to hurricane relief funds.

UAlbany and West Virginia have never met for a regular season game.  UAlbany went 21-14 last season, earning a trip in the America East title game and picking up a berth in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament while West Virginia was 28-9 last season, going to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
