ALBANY, N.Y. – UAlbany forward Mike Rowley was selected to the 2016-17 National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court for excellent academics, the organization announced on Tuesday morning.
This is Rowley's second straight year on the NABC Honors Court. To be named to the Honors Court, nominees must be at least junior standing, have spent at least one year at their current institution and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2.
Rowley graduated in May after his senior season with UAlbany, finishing with a 3.52 cumulative GPA with a major in business. He was the America East Elite 17 winner for men's basketball with the highest GPA among players in the conference title game and was a member of the America East All-Academic Team.
On the court, Rowley started all games in the UAlbany frontcourt, averaging 5.4 points and five rebounds per game. He helped the Great Danes finish 21-14 with an America East title game appearance and a berth in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.
Last week, UAlbany was honored as a program with the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for having a 3.1 team GPA.
