ALBANY, N.Y. – For the third straight year, the University at Albany baseball program has teamed up with the Vs. Cancer Foundation to Cure Kids’ Cancer. UAlbany players, coaches, and staff members are participating in the fundraising efforts for the foundation, culminated on Sunday, May 6 when the Great Danes host UMass Lowell. At that time, the team will make its donation to Vs. Cancer.
The team is accepting pledges to help raise funds for the foundation. Those looking to donate may so do at UAlbany’s Vs. Cancer fundraising page. Half of all proceeds will benefit national childhood cancer research, and the other half will help kids directly undergoing treatment at a local children’s hospital.
About the Vs. Cancer Foundation: Founded by former University of North Carolina baseball player and Stage IV brain cancer survivor Chase Jones, the non-profit organization is dedicated to saving kids' lives by empowering athletes and communities to fund lifesaving childhood cancer efforts.
