UAlbany Splits Doubleheader Against La Salle

Records: UAlbany (2-4), La Salle (6-3)

 

Head Coach Jon Mueller: "Tremendous team win Game One. McLean was great, and Joe Kruszka was dominant at the end of the game. We never got going in Game Two offensively, and LaSalle capitalized.” 

 

Short Story: UAlbany’s doubleheader split with La Salle came after UAlbany won a tight Game One, but remained scoreless in Game Two.

 

Key Stats:

 

Game One:  

  • UAlbany got off to a strong start, scoring three runs in the top of the first, thanks in part to Travis Collins and Matt Codispoti driving in runs.
  • La Salle scored a run in the bottom of the fourth, the bottom of the fifth, and an additional two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
  • Matt Codispoti's RBI scored UAlbany another run in the top of the seventh
  • UAlbany scored two runs in the top of the 10th.

 

Game 2:

  • La Salle scored four runs in the the bottom of the second, another run at the bottom of the fourth, and an additional three runs at the bottom of the sixth.

UAlbany travels next weekend to Farmville, Va. to play a two-day series against Longwood beginning Saturday, March 9.
