Records: UAlbany (1-3), La Salle (5-2)

 

Head Coach Jon Mueller: “We established a nice lead midway through the game with two-out hits.  Unfortunately, we also gave up big two-out hits ourselves and that hurt us.  We need to clean up the defense moving forward."

 

Short Story: UAlbany fell to La Salle after going up 6-1 in the fourth inning.

How it happened:

  • Both teams remained scoreless in the first two innings.
  • La Salle added a run in the bottom of the third.
  • Marc Wangenstein had an RBI after his hit scored Nick Kondo in the top of the fourth. Patrick Lagravinese's two-RBI triple that gave UAlbany another two runs.
  • Travis Collins got an RBI after his hit scored Nick Kondo, while Kevin Donati and Marc Wangenstein each had RBI doubles that added an additional two runs for UAlbany in the top of the fifth.
  • La Salle put up six runs at the bottom of the sixth, four runs in the bottom of the seventh and an additional two runs at the bottom of the eighth.

 

The Great Danes will play their final game against La Salle on Sunday, March 3.
