Great Danes Baseball Announces 2019 Slate
ALBABY, N.Y. – On Thursday, UAlbany baseball Head Coach Jon Mueller announced the Great Danes’ 2019 schedule. The 52-game slate features 24 America East games and 17 contests at Varsity field.
“We are excited to announce our 2019 schedule,” said Mueller. “The schedule is intended to prepare our team for the highly competitive America East Conference. As always, our goal is to be playing our best baseball in late May.”
The Great Danes will take the diamond with teams from the Atlantic-10, Big South, Big East and MEAC conferences in the first two months, including opening the season with a three-game series at Coppin State on February 23.
Spring Break will consist of six games road games for the Danes at 2018 America East Tournament Champion Hartford, St. Peter’s and Central Connecticut State from March 16-22.
UAlbany wraps up its early season non-conference slate by making a trip to the Bronx to play a three-game series at Manhattan (Match 23-24) before playing a pair of midweek games at Massachusetts (March 26) and Iona (March 27).
Great Dane nation will get their first look at their squad on Saturday, March 30, when the team welcomes Binghamton in a three-game series. UAlbany plays host to league opponents UMBC (April 13-14), Maine (April 27-28) and Hartford (May 17-18) this season as well.
UAlbany opens America East action on the road against Hartford (March 16-17) and will also make roads trips to UMass Lowell (April 6-7), Stony Brook (April 20-21) and Binghamton (May 11-12).
Late-season, non-conference match-ups include a trip to Sacred Heart, with 2018 NCAA Tournament participant LIU Brooklyn, Fairleigh Dickinson, Fordham, Marist and Iona making stops in Albany.
The America East Conference Championship is back at the Bearcat Baseball Complex in Vestal, N.Y. on May 22-25. The champion of the double-elimination bracket earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
