UPDATE: Baseball at Sacred Heart Cancelled

Update: Due to the impending forecast, the UAlbany baseball game at Sacred Heart has been cancelled and will not be made up.  The original story follows.

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany baseball team enters the final week of the 2018 regular season with one final non-conference road game at Sacred Heart.

Over the weekend, the Great Danes (18-25, 8-13 AE) were swept in three games by Maine, falling to 0-6 on the season against the Black Bears. UAlbany now sits in sixth place in the America East standings after the weekend’s games, and needs to take one game from UMBC this weekend in Baltimore to secure a spot in the America East Tournament.

Sacred Heart last played four games against LIU Brooklyn, sweeping the Blackbirds at home and falling at neutral site Fordham University. The Pioneers, who have followed an eight-game losing streak by winning seven of nine, will host UAlbany off-site in Ansonia, Conn.

Five teams, Hartford, Stony Brook, UMass Lowell, UMBC, and Maine, have clinched spots in the America East Tournament. Hartford sits atop the stands at 14-7, while Stony Brook, UMass Lowell, UMBC, and Maine have matching 11-10 conference records. 

Following the game against Sacred Heart, UAlbany will visit UMBC for three games starting Friday, May 18.
