Niagara scored first, erupting for four runs in the bottom of the second
UAlbany responded quickly, scoring three runs in the top of the third. Peter Torres worked a leadoff walk and advanced to second two batters later when Nick Kondo singled to short. Patrick Lagravinese next worked a walk to load the bases. Marc Wangenstein hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring Torres and seeing Lagravinese thrown out at second. After Connor Powers worked a walk to reload the bases, Ryan Hernandez hit a two-RBI single to center, scoring Kondo and Wangenstein.

UAlbany tied the game at five in the top of the sixth. With one out and runners on first and second, Josh Gurnack hit an RBI single to left, followed by Torres hitting an RBI single to center.
