Baseball Adds Kruszka In Early Signing Period
ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany baseball team welcomes Joseph Kruszka as the single addition to the team during the early signing period.
Joseph Kruszka, a 6-0, 180 lb righty from Gowanda, N.Y., arrives at UAlbany from Niagara County Community College. As a freshman, Kruszka was the closer on the NCCC team that went to the Junior College World Series. His nine saves that season were tied for second in the country. Kruszka posted a 2-0 record with 30 strikeouts in 20 innings of work while holding opponents to a .153 batting average.
"We are excited to have Joe join the UAlbany Baseball Family," said head coach Jon Mueller. "He brings a healthy arsenal of pitches and a fiercely competitive attitude to the hill.”
Kruszka joins a UAlbany team that placed fourth in the America East last season with a record of 26-26 and was one win away from the America East championship during the conference tournament. The upcoming 2017-18 roster returns the core of last year's team and looks to take the next step this year.
