BOSTON - University at Albany goalkeeper Danny Vitiello has been named America East Player of the Week. He shares the award with New Hampshire Rookie Josh Bauer.

Vitiello, a redshirt-junior from Massapequa, N.Y., recorded a season-high eight saves at Vermont on Saturday, including five in the second half. Vitiello (5-1-0) earned his fourth shutout of the season, leading the Great Danes to a fourth straight shutout over the Catamounts dating back to the 2015 season.

Vitiello is the fourth Great Dane to earn a weekly award, following Player Afonso Pinheiro and Rookies Owen Fingar and Adam Malekos.

After two straight games on the road, UAlbany returns home to host New Hampshire on Wednesday, October 11.
