ALBANY, N.Y. – Fresh off a victory in the conference opener, the University at Albany men’s soccer team will begin a two-game road trip on Tuesday with a visit to LIU Brooklyn.
The Great Danes (7-2-0, 1-0-0 AE), who are in the middle of playing four of five games on the road, hosted UMass Lowell Saturday night in the first America East game of the season. UAlbany defeated UMass Lowell 1-0. The Riverhawks, who were the 2016 America East regular season champions, had been selected as the 2017 conference favorites in the preseason coaches’ poll.
With one conference game in the books, UAlbany will return to non-conference play against LIU Brooklyn before facing another America East opponent.
The Blackbirds most recently tied La Salle on the road 1-1 in double overtime. The game before, they recorded their first win of the season, 3-1 over Howard. UAlbany represents LIU Brooklyn’s final non-conference game of the season before starting NEC play on October 8.
UAlbany will follow up LIU Brooklyn with a trip to Vermont on Saturday, October 7, before returning home on Wednesday, October 11 to host New Hampshire.
