ALBANY, N.Y. – After playing four of their first six games of 2017 at home, the University at Albany men’s soccer team (4-2-0) will begin its first extended road trip on Wednesday with a visit to Lafayette.
UAlbany most recently hosted American University, defeating the Eagles 3-1 in arguably the team’s most contentious game so far this season. Redshirt senior Kaz Boschen iced the game for the Danes, scoring his first career goal to put UAlbany up 3-1 in the 88th minute.
In four home games so far this season, UAlbany is 4-0 and has outscored its opponents 13-2. The Danes have won their last eight home games dating back to the 2016 regular season finale against Binghamton, by a total margin of 24-3.
Four of Lafayette’s first six games have been played on the road. The Leopards most recently concluded a two-game road trip, falling to Cornell 3-1 and to LaSalle 2-1. The game against UAlbany will be Lafayette’s first home game in 12 days.
The Great Danes will play one more game on the road after visiting Lafayette, at Harvard on September 24, before returning home to host UMass Lowell to start America East conference play.
