BOSTON – After winning the opening race of the 2019 season, University at Albany senior Hannah Reinhardt has been named America East Performer of the Week, the conference offices announced Wednesday. She was named alongside Stony Brook’s Vann Moffet, who earned the men’s award.
Reinhardt won the 5K at the Siena XC Invitational, crossing the line in 18:03.8, nearly 25 seconds ahead of runner-up Alexandra Bartolott from Marist. Reinhardt, who led the Great Danes to a third-place team finish, has now won five of her last seven races dating back to the beginning of the 2018 season, and has been named America East Performer of the Week in each of the last five times one of her races has been eligible for the award.
Reinhardt and her Great Dane teammates will visit Boston’s Franklin Park on Friday, September 20 for the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown. Later this season, UAlbany will host the America East XC Championships, where Reinhardt and the women’s team are defending individual and team champions, respectively.
