Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Named All-Academic

NEW ORLEANS – The University at Albany men’s and women’s cross country teams have each earned All-Academic honors, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Thursday. 

The men’s team pulled down a team GPA of 3.29, while the women earned a team GPA of 3.15.  Northern Arizona’s men’s team was named Scholar Team of the Year for the second time in the last four years, and Oregon was named as women’s Scholar Team of the Year.

A total of 431 teams earned All-Academic honors for the cross country season, including 242 women’s teams and 189 men’s teams.  Georgia State’s team GPA of 3.85 led all women’s teams and Bowling Green’s men led with a team GPA of 3.71.

The Great Danes are currently in the middle of the indoor track and field season, and have one more weekend of competition before the America East Indoor Championships take place in two weeks.
