NEW HAVEN, Conn. - University at Albany women’s lacrosse head coach Katie Rowan and assistant coach Taylor Frink will take the sidelines tonight for the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League semifinals when their second-seeded Pride take on the third-seeded Brave at Yale University’s Reese Stadium.
Rowan is in her second season as head coach of the Pride, who have gone 2-1 in 2019 and share the league lead in scoring with 38 goals. Between the Pride and the Brave, the semifinal matchup will feature three of the four players who share the league lead in individual scoring.
This will be the first meeting this season between the teams, whose regular-season game was cancelled due to excessive heat. The winner will advance to Sunday’s championship game in Baltimore at Tierney Field, where they will face the winner of top seed Fight and four-seed Command.
The semifinals can be streamed on ESPN3, and the championship game will broadcast on ESPNU.
In Rowan's first season at UAlbany, the Great Danes went 11-7 and advanced to their ninth-straight America East title game.
