Nikki Branchini – Women’s Lacrosse – 2008-2011

Branchini was the first UAlbany women’s lacrosse player to receive IWLCA All-America honors, earning a spot on the Third Team as a junior and Second Team as a senior. She also was a member of the America East All-Conference First Team in all four of her seasons and was a two-time league Player of the Year. The midfielder from Guilderland, N.Y., led the Great Danes to their first NCAA Tournament berth as a senior as part of a team that finished 18-1. And in 2011 she was chosen America East Woman of the Year for combining excellence in athletics, academics service and leadership.

Michael Dungey – Football – 2004-2007

A two-time First-Team All-Northeast Conference defensive tackle from Rochester, N.Y., Dungey recorded 117 career tackles in 45 games. He finished his career with 32 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. His 5.5 sacks in 2007 ties for the seventh-highest single-season total in program history.

Brandon Howlett – Track & Field – 2000-2005

Howlett holds the UAlbany record in Discus with a 184-00.00 mark in 2006. The New Haven, Conn., native became UAlbany’s first NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships qualifier in 2004 and was a three-time All-America East Honoree (2002-04) in that event.

Kelly Ogden – Softball – 2004-07

A career .321 hitter, Ogden hit 26 career home runs and piled up 156 RBIs, the third most in program history. Her 50 RBIs as a sophomore still rank as the second-highest single-season total in program history. The third baseman from Pine Bush, N.Y., had 202 career hits, which are fifth-most in program history, and was 20-for-25 in stolen-base attempts. She was part of three America East championship teams and was a three-time America East All-Conference player.

2005 Softball

The 2005 softball team earned the program’s first America East championship and NCAA Tournament berth. The Great Danes finished with a 35-14 record, including a 17-2 mark in the America East. UAlbany, which posted two seven-game win streaks during the season, defeated Stony Brook, 4-0, to capture the league titles. They finished with a team batting average of .306 and an earned-run average of 2.23.
