Harbinger earns 6th AE Rookie of the Week honor
ALBANY, N.Y. – UAlbany women's lacrosse freshman midfielder Kendra Harbinger was named America East Rookie of the Week for the fourth consecutive week Monday.
It’s the Clifton Park, N.Y., native’s sixth time winning the award this season.
Harbinger, a Shenendehowa High graduate, had 11 points (nine goals, two assists) and a team-best 12 draw controls to help the Great Danes go 2-0 this past week, with wins over Vermont and UMBC.
Against Vermont, Harbinger set a program record for points by a freshman with nine (seven goals, two assists). She also led the Great Danes with eight draw controls.
Harbinger added two more goals in an 11-7 win over UMBC that marked UAlbany’s fifth straight victory overall and fourth in a row to open conference play.
Harbinger is leading UAlbany in goals (33), shots on goal (61) and draw controls (42)
She previously was named the league’s Rookie of the Week on April 2, March 26, March 19, March 5 and Feb. 19.
The Great Danes next play Saturday, when they host UMass Lowell at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium in a noon draw.
