BOSTON, Mass. – University at Albany senior midfielder Emma Powlin was selected by the Boston Storm in the United Women’s Lacrosse League College Draft on Wednesday.
The Penfield, N.Y., native was chosen in the eighth round (30th overall). She was one of 60 college athletes taken in the draft to play in the 2018 season.
Powlin was named to the America East All-Conference Second Team as a junior after compiling 28 goals and 47 assists. She was was ninth in Division I and second in the league with 2.61 assists per game.
Founded in 2016, the Boston-based United Women’s Lacrosse League includes four teams: Boston, the Baltimore Ride, the Long Island Sound and the Philadelphia Force. It’s the world’s first professional women’s lacrosse league.
