Three Great Danes Honored on IWLCA All-Region Teams

ALBANY, N.Y. – Three UAlbany women's lacrosse players were honored on the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Northeast Region Teams on Friday afternoon.

Sarah Martin was placed on the First Team while Dakotah Savitcheff and Emma Powlin were selected to the Second Team.

Martin earns her second place on the all-region team.  A 2017 Tewaaraton nominee, the senior midfielder is second in all of Division I with 6.24 points per game and top-10 with 3.59 goals per game and 2.65 assists per game.  The America East Midfielder of the Year has the highest single season scoring mark in UAlbany women's lacrosse history with 106 points off 61 goals and 45 assists.

Savitcheff is an all-region player for the third consecutive year.  UAlbany's all-time goals leader, the senior attack is third in Division I with 3.79 goals per game, totaling 53 on the year, adding 13 caused turnovers on the ride.  The America East All-Conference First Team member has 12 multi-goal games.

Powlin picks up all-region honors for the first time in her collegiate career.  The junior attack/midfield is 10th in Division I with 2.53 assists per game, totaling 43, adding 27 goals for 70 points.  The America East All-Conference Second Team member has notched multiple assists in 11 games this season.

Three all-region players is just one shy of the team record in a season.
