UAlbany Sports Information   04-17-2017

ALBANY, N.Y. – The UAlbany women’s lacrosse team is ranked for the first time since the start of the 2016 season, placing #18 in the Inside Lacrosse/ILWomen.com media poll this week.

In addition, UAlbany is receiving votes in the IWLCA Coaches Poll, the first team outside the top-20 in that group.

UAlbany had intermittently received votes in the media poll this season and joins the top-20 for the first time since the beginning of the 2016 season.

UAlbany earns its ranking after picking up the program’s first win over a top-10 team last week, taking down then #8/8 Cornell 11-10 in Ithaca.  UAlbany stands at 9-4 overall, with all losses coming against teams currently ranked in the top-10.

Maryland stands as the unanimous #1 in each in the coaches and media polls, with Florida at #2 in each.

UAlbany will get set to battle Dartmouth on Wednesday, April 19th at 3 p.m. in New Hampshire.
