SPARKS, Md. – US Lacrosse has announced that four players with UAlbany ties have been named to the US indoor roster for the Heritage Cup on October 21st.
UAlbany senior Connor Fields and alumni Brett Queener ’08, Blaze Riorden ’16 and Joe Resetarits ’12 have been named to the U.S. roster for this contest.
Fields is playing for the US team for the first time. Riorden and Resetarits competed for the US team in the 2015 World Games that took the bronze medal, while Queener competed with the indoor team in the earlier part of the decade. Fields, Riorden and Resetarits serve as forwards with Queener playing at transition.
The Heritage Cup is being re-launched for the first time since 2013, featuring an exhibition game between the United States and Canada at the FirstOntario Centre on Saturday, October 21st.
In the US Lacrosse press release, head coach Regy Thorpe and the US coaching staff are “are beginning the process to put together the team that will ultimately represent the U.S. at the next Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, which will be held Sept. 19-28, 2019.”
