UAlbany Sports Information   03-12-2019

ALBANY, N.Y. — University at Albany men’s lacrosse alumni will be well-represented in the Premier Lacrosse League, which debuts with its inaugural season this coming June.

Eight fromer Great Danes, including six of whom will play on the same squad, are signed to play in the six-team league when it opens June 1.

Connor Fields, Miles Thompson, Joe Resetarits, Kyle McClancy, Troy Reh and Blaze Riorden all will play for Chaos LC, while Ty Thompson and Brett Queener are on the Chrome LC roster.

Together, they represent some of the top players in UAlbany history. MIles Thompson was a co-Tewaaraton Trophy recipient with his brother, Lyle, in 2014. He and Resetaritis both were USILA First-Team All-Americans, while Fields and Riorden both were Third-Team All-Americans.

Fields, McClancy and Reh are reunited after having last played together on the 2018 UAlbany team that reached the NCAA Championship weekend for the First Time.

UAlbany has a long tradition of seeing its players compete in the professional ranks. A Great Dane has been chosen in 12 of the past 13 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Drafts and in every National Lacrosse League draft since 2012. Eight UAlbany alumni are competing in the NLL this season.

The PLL will hold its first draft April 22 at NBC Sports’ International Broadcast Center in Stanford, Conn. The first season will follow a tour-based model, with the 14-week season being played across 12 American cities.
