ALBANY, N.Y. — University at Albany sophomore attack Tehoka Nanticoke has been named to the Watch List for the Tewaaraton Trophy, the most prestigious award in college lacrosse.
Nanticoke, who has eight points (six goals) in three games this season, was among the 50 men’s and 50 women’s student-athletes across all divisions of NCAA lacrosse who were named to the list.
The field will be narrowed to 25 candidates on April 25 and then to five finalists on May 9. The finalists will be invited to attend the Tewaaraton Award Ceremony in Washington, D.C., on May 30.
The selection committee for the award is comprised of college coaches.
Nanticoke, from Six Nations, Ontario, is coming off a freshman season in which he totaled 82 points (50 goals) while helping the Great Danes win an America East title and reach NCAA Championship Weekend.
