Last season, the publication had its first-ever Media All-America list, with five Great Danes earning that postseason distinction. The list is compiled by various media members across the country.
The All-America list was put in the Face-Off Yearbook, where UAlbany was placed #2 in the preseason rankings. UAlbany currently stands at #3 in each the USILA Coaches poll and the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
Fields, a Tewaaraton finalist and First Team All-American by the USILA and IL last season, had the fourth highest scoring season in Division I history last year with 117 points off 55 goals and 62 assists. He has earned All-America honors each of his first three years.
Ierlan earned All-America honors by each the USILA and IL in last year’s freshman campaign, finishing second in Division I with a 70.8% faceoff rate and first with 11.22 ground balls per game.
McClancy was an All-American on the field by USILA and IL as well as in the classroom as a Scholar All-American by the USILA. Now a senior, he earned 29 goals, 13 assists, 27 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers last season.
Colarusso, now a redshirt senior, earned America East All-Conference Second Team honors last year in his first year as the starting goalkeeper, finishing first in the America East and 16th in DI with a 53.6% save rate, also having a 9.37 goals allowed average.
Nanticoke was the #1 recruit in this year’s freshman class, entering his first year with the Great Danes. He played for the U19 Iroquois Nationals in the 2016 World Games, earning MVP at attack with 22 goals and nine assists.
